May 5 to May 23, 2006 - Countries visited: South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia
We stayed at the Motsentsela Tree Lodge - Then we took a flight on Mack Air to Xaxanaka
Game on the Xaxanaka Lagoon
Xaxanaca Lagoon - Botswana
Savuti Lodge in the late afternoon
Lionessess killing a baby buffalo - near Moremi Lodge
We stopped at Kachikau, a tiny hamlet in NW Botswana where we visited the local orphanage. Thousands of African children are orphaned when their parents die of aids. Sadly, many of these kids are aids infected.
To get to the houseboat, we had to cross the border from Namibia into Zambia. The trucks have to wait 3 or 4 days. For the tourists in their Landrovers the wait is only 3 to 5 hours
In Capetown we visited our friend Henrietta who drove us all over the place
